I saw a post about FLAC files, I think SHN (shorten) would be a VERY worthwhile addition... I have tons of live music in SHN format that I'd love to be able to listen to.... or even better stil, stream to TiVo with on the fly encoding (see my other post ;-)

i agree.
But do you know you can convert them in wave in a very fast way and concert them to APE?
SHN was never see as a musical format really - and is not that good at it- ,but more as a zip format .
In another hand if you want to share it ,you need to keep it on SHN format
