Hi All,
The craziness with my Mac Wireless Keyboard (wireless A314 October 2009 - two battery version) continues.
I have had JRiver for Mac 20 and now 28, and written about this problem over the years. I hoped that JRiver 28 would have fixed the problem.
Essentially when JRiver 20 or 28 boot up initially, the volume up and down keys do not work on the keyboard, but bizarrely, if I first on and type in Firefox (!!) and then reselect JRiver, they work perfectly until next start up. Sometimes I think if I clicked on exactly the right parts of the JRiver top bar they would start working too, but by then I always thought I was going mad.
This was on Mac Mojave.
Over the weekend, I tried to install Catalina, blew up my Mojave install, but eventually got a perfectly fresh Catalina install.
And of course a beautifully fresh Jrvier 28 install too.
But now I can't get the volume buttons on my Mac bluetooth keyboard to work at all. I have set JRiver volume to Internal. And tried clicking all over the place, but to no avail.
These little buttons make or break my listening experience because I cannot just sit on my couch (or cook from the kitchen)and control volume with a few clicks on the keyboard from metres away: I have to sit up, find the mouse, squint hard at the TV or get closer so I can even see what is happening if in the kitchen, set it perfectly onto the slider in the top left corner and slide it just right - all so much harder for an old man to do than a button click or two.
At least now I see some others with problems as bizarre as mine.
Any solutions this time round please?
Regards,
George.
