Import a single folder dropdown box
« on: April 12, 2021, 01:31:10 pm »

I have a simple question that has baffled me for some time and I can't find an answer searching the forum. When importing media, and selecting Import a single folder, is there a way to delete the previous entries in the dropdown box? I  know I can browse to the folder I want, but I have many entries that I've used over the years that I don't want to clutter up the dropdown box, and want to show only the main folders I import from such as \Music\FLAC, for example.

How do I delete all the extraneous entries that are no longer needed in the dropdown box? I'm guessing this is easy, but I've tried many different keyboard presses such as Delete and Backspace, etc. and just can't seem to find the right combination of button presses.

Not sure if there's a key for that. Assuming Windows, you can edit or clear the list in this registry entry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\JRiver\Media Center 27\Properties\Library Import MRU Folders

To remove the whole list you can simply delete or rename that key.

I do have the same problem. I deleted all entries in the registry, but I still have a lot of entries in this folder.
Any ideas how to get rid of them?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you close MC before clearing the registry?

Sorry to pump this up. But I cannot delete any entries which one starts with C:\....
They are not present in the windows registry.
Any ideas how to clear this drop down list? Its getting longer and longer.
Thanks for any help in advance.

The Music/Pictures/Video folders on your user profile seem to be added by default and always there. Some other folders registered into Windows as "media folder" by some other applications might also show up. I don't know if these can be disabled, they seem to be added by MC automatically.

I have to agree with you that it's a bit annoying. I have these folders there (screenshot) and I care for none of them... not sure if MC is scanning the entire disk for all folders named images\audio\music\video\etc (unlikely), or getting the list from somewhere in Windows, but they're definitely irrelevant and should not show up. C:\Perl\html\images, really?

EDIT: From a quick capture with ProcMon, it looks like MC is in fact scanning the entire disk up to a max depth of 3 subfolders.
@JRiver: can this be disabled?
