Custom visualisations will crash MC if they are placed in the root visualisation folder. Once MC starts crashing, the only way to get it back to normal is to UNINSTALL and INSTALL again.
Then, create your customised visualisation, but make sure that you do not save it in the root vis folder. Rather create one called Custom, or something. Save it in there. It will work!
Matt and the boys: Vis studio has been completely ignored in version 9. A few suggestions, which have been thrown around by many others, include:
- Support for all custom fields
- The ability to save visualisations anywhere (or at least in the root folder!).
- Better editing for elements. Adding a text box is a mission if you need to only change text. You need to edit at least one other field before the text changes are committed into memory.
- When parameters are changed for an element, as the changes are made, the visualisation goes through some spasmodic actions. Once you click on another element in your vis, it returns to normal.
Hope that these suggestions help!
