importance of new list data type
« on: April 03, 2003, 05:20:42 pm »

I've just realized the importance of list data type. It should do something I wanted for a long time.

You can put a song under many genres or under many artists with that. Except, you cannot change the data type of these predefined fields. (So you can do it with a user defined MY_GENRE but not with standard genre).

Are you going to change this any time soon?

This is a biiiig improvement
I thought you were not going to add any new features ;D

I have changed Album Artist to list type but this does not affect Album Artist (auto), any workaround ?

Hi Tolga,

I'm sure that the answer to this is almost certainly not. The Auto generator would really have a hard time if it had to both do the automatic generating of the album artists and then try and parse that list for multiple entries.

I agree that it would be nice to be able to change some of the default field settings (such as Genre, artist and so on) to be List Types as opposed to plain old text.

We may have to wait a while before that happens though! :)
