JRiver Panel on Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
« on: July 08, 2021, 10:44:37 am »

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K has a browser (Silk) where I can run JRiver Panel and listen to my music from the server in my home. So far so good, it basically works.
There is one issue: Scrolling down or up on a page does not work with the Fire TV remote control when panel is open.
Scrolling in Silk works on other websites with the Fire TV remote control.
Is there anything I can do to get this working?
Does any other remote control solve this issue?
Can you change something in Pamel so that scrolling works?

And it would be much better if Gizmo would work and be available in the Amazon App Store. Any more elegant method of accessing my music from my server via Amazon Fire TV Stick is appreciated. Any proposals for more comfort?

Try Channel Up and Channel Down if the remote has those.  Or Page Up and Page Down.

Jim
The Remote Control for Amazon Fire Stick does not have anything like Channel Up, Channel Down, Page Up and Page Down.

The cursor can be moved with the wheel to left, right, up and down. Panel does not show a scroll bar to the left that one could move. Normal websites have and there it works.

Any other idea/proposal?

Does the mouse also do up, down, left, and right?

By "mouse" do you mean the wheel? If so, yes it does. If not, I don't know what you mean.

What do the up and down do?

The wheel just moves the cursor up and down, left and right. You can move it to the edges and nothing happens. When you move the cursor to the right edge where the scroll bar seems to be (but you don't really see it), clicking the center of the wheel does not do anything. The result: You can't scroll.

Since I can't capture a video from my TV screen I will try to take a video with my camera to show what's happening or better not happening and post the link later today when done.

The Panel software works flawlessly on my Android Tablet.

Here is the link to the video that hopefully shows the issue:

You're at a disadvantage with a remote that has no page up, channel up, etc.  You might see if Amazon has a workaround for that.  It's possible that using the mouse while you're pressing another key will give you page up and down.

On a touch screen, you can "flick" the screen up and down.  Doing that with your remote would be awkward.

I suppose you tried moving the cursor all the way to the bottom.

Another remote?
