Mac Mini M1 MC28 crashes while trying to play ISO and DSF

(1/2) > >>

AGAWA:
First of all my question:
Can I setup MC in such a way that it will play ISO (2ch, mch areas) to headphone output (Core Audio) on Mac Mini M1 without external DAC?
I thought , when enabling downmix , MC should convert ISO and DSF to PCM and present at PCM the output.
PCM play OK, both 2ch and mch (with downmix set in DSP) .
ISO and DSF cause MC28 to instantly crash with crash report.

MC27 at least shows "Something went wrong with the playback" window.

The same two exercises on MacBook Pro with Apogee Duet attached behave as expected (4 speakers setup, downmix). But with 4 speakers it is obvious, as MC converts everything to PCM for downmix.
For 2 speaker setup on Mac Mini M1 it looks that I'm not getting PCM to  headphone port. (about MC shows Silicon for MC27 and 28)

JUST checked on MacBook Pro /Intel without DAC attached - playing to Core Audio built in output - speakers
MC28 crashes, MC27 stable, but impossible to play ISO or DSF directly to Core Audio output, in this case internal speakers.

------------------
More, I'm almost sure that it did work in MC26 - Mac and Windows; straight to plain audio without DAC.
Looked through my earlier post:

I wonder if there were changes in  MC27 and MC28 or I'm doing something wrong with configuration. Tried all imaginable permutations. No luck. Interesting.

-----------------------------
Just installed MC25 for Mac on MacBook Pro/Intel.
Both ISO and DSF files play without any problem straight to MacBook speakers.
MC26 did the same.
MC27 and MC28 Intel and universal builds don't.

bob:
It works fine for me.
See attached.

interesting. This is why I asked a question how to setup MC to play2 ch and mch .ISO and DSF files without  external DAC, straight to Core Audio.
Mac mini M1 : (universal 28.0.29 silicon), (27.0.88 silicon)
MC28 crashes immediately, when I look at MIDI setup : there's a change from 48 kHz / 2ch 32 bit float to 96 / 2ch 32 bit float (I have set 48kHz)
MC27 tries to open the file, but stops with :Something went wrong with the playback...." message. MIDI setup not changed in this case.

I've tried all permutations of settings and nothing seems to work.

Same case with MC27 and 28 Intel on MacBook Pro - Catalina.
I've installed MC25 Mac on MacBook Pro and with a few steps, core audio headphones, 2 speakers, JRSS mixing, no subwoofer - everything works as it should.

I wonder what I'm doing wrong or where is the problem?

PS I would like to see the nice picture of Mahler's 4th as you have presented as a prove.

AGAWA:
Installed MC26 (26.0.177), quick setup: core audio headphones, 2 speakers, JRSS mixing, no Sub, SoX
and I'm playing Bach - Perahia 2 ch form .ISO.

So, where is the problem with MC27 and MC28?

AGAWA:
SOLVED,
Audio - Advanced - Auto configure output settings on playback error : was set to Ask; changed to ; Yes, and problems gone.
Thank you for your inspiration.
