problem; a short cracking sound
« on: June 25, 2021, 10:38:44 pm »

Hello Gentlemen,

I have a problem sometimes when I stop playing music; there is very sharp and short cracking sound from my speakers.
It's not coming all the time, but enough for me to stop upgrading my MediaCenter from the version 26.
As I have no problems like this from other music players or Youtube listenings, I guess this is related to MC's PC memory management probably.
I have 39,596 files in the MC26 now. I reinstalled my Window and increased my PC memory to 32gb but couldn't solve this problem.

Could I settle this cracking sound problem when I stop playing a music, please?

Thanks much.

That's coming from your DAC, probably from the driver you're using for it.  Try Direct Sound (just as a test) and WASAPI.

If you're using ASIO, try the 32 bit version of MC and the 32 bit version of the driver.

Try using MC's DSP Studio > Output Settings to resample everything to a lower sample rate.   Start at 48kHz.
