OK. First a little history, I have used JRiver for about 8 years and my extent of use was to tell JRiver where my music files were and it imported all of it into the library and I just used it to play music through a DAC. It was all simple plug and play and I really never learned much more about it. It worked and I never bothered to learn more. Moving forward I got talked into changing my stereo setup and going DSP. Honestly I am beginning to think this was a mistake but I have bought the hardware and I am either going to sink or swim. MY main speakers are two way horn loaded speakers and I do have a sub. I have 3 amps, one to power the speaker horns, an amp for the speaker bass bins and one for the sub. I have been encouraged to try audiolense and it will develop my crossovers and perform time /Freq corrections for the listening position. I will be using a RME UCX as my hardware interface with the computer to make this happen. I just built a new computer and now have the latest JRiver MC 28 loaded. after scanning the manual for the RME and looking into the JRiver convolution engine I know I am way out of my comfort zone. So I am asking for some words of wisdom on how to get started and get it all setup? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I know this will take time and patience.
Also It was pointed out to me the other day when I was finishing up my computer and copying all of my music over to SSD drives that all of my music is in MP4 format. The guy told helping me told me this format is really not the best but it will work. My question is JRiver will play it and has for years but is there any settings in there that I should adjust to optimize the playback for MP4?
Thanks!
