I'd love JRiver would give the option to automatically split cue+flac or cue_+ape (etc.) pairs into individual audio file
I'd also love the same for SACD ISO
I know there are tool around which does this but I'd like to be automated (like conversion to flac during ripping is)
thanks

  • Shoes gone again!

With APE you can split to APL files so you'll have one file per track with tags.

  • Long cold Winter...

In the case of SACD ISOs, it isn't simple or easy as you have to extract (without doing any sort of conversion) the data and put it into a DSF or DFF container otherwise there's a conversion (with a PCM stage) in the middle. Currently Media Center doesn't have this capability, however sacd_extract can extract the data and packaging it into DSF/DFF files, which makes it the best tool for that kind of thing at the moment.

Basically to do this, Media Center would have to implement sacd_extract (or its features) and utilize them, which in turn could potentially be used to address the other 'issues' in Media Center related to DSD, though I don't think it could solve the issue of allowing DFF to DSF or DSF to DFF 'conversions' without actually doing any conversion, instead repackaging the container from one to the other.

it is not clear: do you mean sacd_extract does conversion? I understood it just repacked from iso to dsf ...

BTW I know (I think) what to do and I did it until now: I am just lazy and asking JRiver do the job for me :)
