Folder column - what is it, and how to remove it?
« on: March 31, 2003, 11:16:48 pm »

As mentioned in the playback/ripping thread, doing a cd lookup on an enhanced cd gave me a folder column....

What is it for?
If it's not essential, how do I get rid of it?

:)

No idea.  You can customize by right clicking on the titles of the columns.

JimH - fyi

Folder is not a column heading you can add or delete (it's not in the list of column names).

If it's a secret, how about letting me know via PM?

I won't tell a soul, honestly :)

Marko how did you get those arrows with superscripted numbers (what are those for?) in the column headers?  Did that come with the skin?

I have seen that folder column in the last many builds while ripping regular audio cd's.

They've got to mean sort ascending and the superscript indicates column sort hierarchy. This is my guess though...and I never see more than one sort arrow in ALL the columns when skins are disabled.

With skins enabled you get lots of pretty little arrows! :)

Yeah! That's MC's "Battalion 23" skin. I really like this one, but found that in the list view, the colours for "selected" and "current" weren't pronounced enough so I edited the xml file, just a teensy little bit. :)

I'm about to check out the new skin though, anticipation is rising!!!

For the record, I really am trying hard to understand this new sorting stuff and so far am finding it really hard going, like walking through treacle. Once I know for sure what I want, I'll maybe be able to form a comprehensive question about it. Till then, I'll plug away on the learning curve.

Now then, about this folder column.....

Am I the only person with one?
Am I the only person letting it bug me?

What is it, where'd it come from, what purpose does it serve, can I get rid of it and if yes, then how?

Someone's gotta know the answer here, surely?
