When I edit songs I often compare one version of a song to another and do very fast switching between songs.  Never a problem in past years.  Now, fairly often (but not always) when I do fast switching (by clicking between the songs in the player), the player will start play a few seconds of the song over and over, maybe about 8 times for 10-15 seconds before it switches.  This is very reproducible, although it doesn't happen every time.  I have switched may music  from an internal hard drive on a bus to a USB 3.0 drive, but the drive seem very fast.  This must be my year for weird problems never encountered before.  Does anyone have thoughts as to cause/solution??  This is a pain when editing.
