Buffering Problem
« on: August 09, 2021, 12:29:13 am »

For some reason when I am playing music it stops and the message "buffering" comes up. I haven't had this problem for years. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to restart and other times it seems to be stuck. I don't know if it is related but sometimes it stops playing the track completely and skips to the next track. This has happened when I have been playing a video.
All files are stored on a external drive with a usb3 connection.
Any ideas?

I think I have solved the problem. My external drives are usb3 but they were plugged into a usb 2 hub. The hub was plugged into a usb 3 socket. Perhaps the slowing down and speeding up caused the problem.
My new PC has a thunderbolt /usb c connector so I got a usb 3 hub with a usb c connection. The speed now is really fast and I have not had the problem since. Hopefully it has resolved the issue.
