Problem with sync to IBASSO DX160
« on: August 17, 2021, 09:22:34 am »

HI

BEEN WEEKS NOW (NOT JOKING) TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW TO TRANSFER ALL MY MUSIC TO THE IBASSO DX160.

I HAVE RUNNED THROUGH THE SOFTWARE MP3TAG V3.08 ALL THE FILES ON MP3, WAV AND FLAC.
I HAVE FILLED ALL OF THE TAGS PROPERLY, ARTIST, ALBUM ARTIST, TITLE, GENRE AND ADDED THE ALBUM COVER.
I HAVE ALSO CONVERTED ALL THE WAV FILES TO FLAC AND FILLED THEIR TAG BEFORE SAVING USING AUDACITY (ON THE LAST FEW DAYS AS AN ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM WITHOUT ANY LUCK)

ONCE I MADE ALL THE PLAYLISTS IN JRiver 27 IN WINDOWS I DID THE FOLLOWING:
- MADE SURE ALL OF THE TAGS ARE COMPLETED
- DELETED UNNECCESARY TAGGING FROM ALL FILES
- UPDATED TAGS FROM (LIBRARY) IN LIBRARY TOOLS
- ANALYZED ALL THE FILES
EVERYTHING TILL HERE LOOKS OK TO ME, NOTHING MISSING AND EVERYTHING WORKS PROPERLY.
NO ISSUE USING JR RIVER AT ALL

THE PROBLEM COMES WHEN SYNCING THE PLAYLISTS TO THE SD CARD.
I HAVE TRANSFERED DIRECTLY TO THE DACīS INTERNAL STORAGE IBASSO DX160 AND IT SEEMS IT WORKS PROPERLY, USING USB. (LIKE 4 SONGS MISSING OUT OF 300, MAINLY FLAC AND WAV FILES)

THE INTERNAL STORAGE IS NOW FULL SO IīM TRYING TO TRANSFER THE REST TO A 128GB SD CARD
MOST PLAYLISTS CONTAIN MP3, WAV AND FLAC FILES.
ONCE THE SYNC PROCESS FINISHES AND I SCAN THE SD CARD IN THE HANDHELD IS WHEN THE TROUBLE STARTS.

- THE % GETS BLOCKED MANY TIMES AND IT TAKES LIKE 10 TO 20 MIN TO FINISH.
- THE CARD WOULD BE HALF FULL, LIKE 60 GB. (AL SO TRIED DOING ONE PLAYLIST WITH 4GB ALONE FOR TEST BUT SAME RESULT)
- THE PLAYLISTS DONīT APPEAR IN THE MANGO PLAYER (NEITHER WITH THE USB TRANSFER) BUT I SORT MY MUSIC BY GENRE SO I DONīT MIND (BUT STILL, THE PLAYLIST IS NOT FOUND IN MANGO OR NEUTRON PLAYER.
- MANY FILES DONīT APPEAR ON THE GENRE SECCION
- MANY SONGS GO TO A NEW GENRE CALLED UNKNOWN AND CANīT BE PLAYED (NO ALBUM COVER NEITHER)
- IF I INSERT THE SD CARD ON THE PC I SEE THE FOLDER WAS CREATED INSIDE THE PLAYLIST BUT NO MUSIC FILE INSIDE THAT FOLDER. (EVEN THO IN THE SYNC PROCESS IT SAYS THE FILE WAS TRANSFERED)
- ALSO TRYED TO TRANSFER THE MUSIC FOLDER DIRECTLY FROM THE PC TO THE SD CARD, WITHOUT USING JRiver AN IT HAPPENS EXACTLY THE SAME.

-MY SYNC OPTIONS ARE:
AUDIO PATH - MUSIC/ALBUM ARTIST (AUTO)/ARTIST    ALSO TRIED WITH ALBUM ARTIST WITHOUT auto(NO LUCK)
       PLAYLIST PATH - PLAYLIST
PLAYLIST FORMAT - M3U (RELATIVE PATHS)    ALSO TRIED WITH M3U8 AND RELATIVE PATH (NO LUCK)
SAVE COVER ART TO FOLDER - ON

PLEASE, SOMEBODY, FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING, HELP ME SORT THIS THING OUT.
I WILL ATTACH SOME PICTURES, MAYBE SOMEONE CAN SEE WHERE THE PROBLEM IS.
THIS SHOULD BE AN EASY THING TO ACHIVE BUT APPARENTLY I NEED TO KNOW CODING OR SOMETHING.
ITīS RIDICULOUS!!!
WOULD BE AMAZING IF JRiver POSTED SOME LONG AND DETAILED TUTORIAL VIDEOS IN YOUTUBE (NO IDEA WHY THIS DOESNīT HAPPEN)

PS; I HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT PATHS OR HOW THEY WORK. BEEN TRYING TO FIND A PLACE WHERE THEY ARE EXPLAINED IN A SIMPLE WAY BUT HAVENīT BEEN LUCKY NEITHER.

EXAMPLE : SOUND TEST OVERALL PLAYLIST (167 FILES IN TOTAL)
ONLY 71 SONGS SHOW AFTER SCANNING
THE ALBUM ARTIST FOLDER IS CREATED BUT NO FILE INSIDE
PLAYLIST DOESNīT APPEAR UNDER PLAYLIST LIST

GENRES SOUND TEST LOWS, MIDS, HIGHS AND STAGE WERE TRANSFERRED USING USB TO INTERNAL STORAGE

Could you please turn the caps lock off?  It's considered shouting.

Hello Jim.

Really sorry about that.
I'm not a forum user and didn't know writing in caps gave the impression of been shouting.
I use the Tv as my screen and I can see caps better from a far distance when typing, that's all.
Won't do that in the furture.

Any idea what's the problem and the solution to the issue I've been facing with the playlist transfers?
Thank you
