Noobie question - How to watch Netflix on TV via DLNA
« on: August 31, 2021, 10:09:51 pm »

I have Netflix working in MC Theatre View on my PC but I don't want to use a long hdmi cable and screen mirroring.
I can send any local video files in the library to my Panasonic TV over dlna but can't find any way to do this with internet streaming media, eg Netflix. I guess I'm missing something simple?

I tried selecting the TV as player before starting Netflix in Theatre View but it just plays locally.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Bump.
I really hope someone can help me with this. I searched all over the wiki and forum. Maybe I missed something, there's so much content here it's hard to see the wood for the trees. I'm impressed with the level of support displayed.

You won't be able to use DLNA with Netflix.  It just won't work.

Ok, thanks. I'll stop beating my head against a brick wall.

Just for interest sake, would you mind explaining why that is? I'm obviously pretty ignorant how dlna works but isn't streaming Netflix similar to streaming audio eg Qobuz?

This likely has to do with DRM on Netflix.
