MC Altering Pictures?
« on: September 09, 2021, 04:52:18 pm »

I recently took some astrophotography pictures and for some reason MC is displaying the .dng (RAW) files way too bright.

They're long exposure shots but with preview, photoscape X and on the phone I took them with they all show the same. The .jpg ones in MC are about the same.

I've selected no effects in tools/images and also highest quality for RAW images. It seems JRiver is reading the info differently. I'd really like to keep my astro collection JRiver with the other albums so would like to figure this out.

Thanks for any help :)

Edit: Another one solved, MC doesn't like .dng, I opened them in photoscape X, saved as .tiff and now they display ok.

It looks like recent changes to libraw might be in play here.
Would you try the MC28 trial and see if it works?

If it doesn't, do you have a file you can share for testing?
You could email one to bob (at) jriver (dot) com.
Thanks.
