High-Priority Burning
« on: March 26, 2003, 05:48:19 pm »

I've found the only way to reliably burn audio CDs in MC is to set its priority to high in task manager. Is there any way MC could do this automatically when burning? Might make it easier for newbies who are getting lots of coasters. Just a thought.

Adam,

Thank you for pointing this out. We will change priority of CD writing thread in the next build. Please let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Just wondering what your system specs are?

I'm not at home, so I can't get you my exact system info.

But it's a Celeron 900 notebook, 384 MB Ram. The burner is a Mitsumi 4804-TE USB burner; it burns at quad speed and has a dinky buffer. MJ would sometimes be fine without changing the priority, as long as I didn't touch the computer. With the priority set to high, I don't have to worry. It only uses 25-30% of the CPU.

This was changed in today's build -- 9.0.135.  Thanks for pointing it out.
