How to get full screen view on macOS?
« on: October 17, 2021, 09:25:29 am »

I recently upgraded from MC 27 to MC 28 on macOS.

In MC 27 and before, I had MC in a full screen mode where, when I double-clicked a video to play it, MC would go full screen on a monitor I chose in Options -> Tree & View -> Full Screen -> Monitor.

But now Display mode is not fully full-screen, there's always a bar at the top, as seen in this screenshot:

I feel like I had this problem before and found some setting somewhere to fix it, but I can't now find it again.

Theater View does go fully full screen, just not Display mode.

Thanks in advance.

Try Tools > Options > General > Behavior.

Thanks for the fast reply.

What options should I be setting here? It's already set to "Jump on play (video)" to Display View.

I tried the Theater View Playing Now option instead, but that gives me this mess:

If I then manually click on Display View at the top, I do get the proper full screen view I wanted:

But it doesn't stick next time I start a file playing. Basically I want it to go straight to this mode every time I double-click a video file, and then go back to MC  standard view when I hit stop.

It used to do that no problem in MC 27.

This is working properly for me now, with Jump on play: Display View

I don't quite understand what even changed, but now when I start playback I get proper Display View, filling the screen.  Maybe I had to go into Theater View Display View once before it worked properly?

This is rather unclear, but at least it works properly now.
