Author Topic: FLAC tagging: %artist% tag field is parsed by "/" during Media Center import  (Read 454 times)

Hi all.  I'm guessing that this is known behavior, but I can't locate a post describing how to work around it.  I am migrating my tagging workflow to MC and currently have my library tagged using Mp3tag.  In Mp3tag, for example, I have an album of FLAC track files tagged as follows:

%album% = Akron/Family
%album artist% = Akron/Family
%artist% = Akron/Family

When I import this into MC, the %album% and %album artist% tags read correct as above (not parsed).  However, the %artist% tag is parsed by the "/" delimiter such that it shows two artists:

%artist% = Akron
%artist% = Family

I'm not sure why the %artist% tag is treated differently by JRiver's parser.  Could someone please help me prevent this?

Thanks!

Apologies--I'm bumping this to try to get an answer.  Is anyone able to link me to an explanation of how/why this works, assuming one exists?

Thanks!

I don't know the answer, but the forward slash is acting as a delimiter.  You may be able to change the delimiters.  Search this page.
