New user - how to play blu-ray?
« on: January 07, 2022, 10:52:39 am »

Hi folks. I've just installed JRiver, and will probably buy it if I can get it to play blu-rays. I inserted a blu-ray disc, a window popped up saying "play"... "rip" etc, so I chose play. I got a full screen window, all black, with a progress bar at the bottom which showed the films duration, and progress, but no sound or image ... any ideas what went wrong? Thanks.

Most Blu-rays of movies are encrypted, and Media Center can't play them as-is. You'll need something like AnyDVD, DVDFab or MakeMKV with its integration mode to decrypt the Blu-ray discs on-the-fly in order for Media Center to be able to play them.
