Hi,
I was thinking about backing up my music and video files but I wanted to use par files to create an archive that could automatically fix any corruption of the files and restore them to bit perfect originals.  It would be cool if this technology could be integrated into JRiver.
Read links below about QuickPar free windows utility that used par files to fix corruption and to verify original copy:
http://www.quickpar.org.uk/
A better description of this can be found here: https://usenetproviders.com/en/usenet-tools/quickpar/

Check it out!  Tell me what you think?
Thanks,
Steve

MC is also available for Linux, where these features can be found at the filesystem layer via "scrubbing", e.g. zfs or btrfs. It's why I use MC for Linux to house my archives despite some quirks. You could at least use it for the library server if you require Windows clients and want to protect against bit rot.
