1. NEW: When MCCommand MCC_PLAYBACK_ENGINE_SET_SUBTITLE_TIMING (28037) is used to change the subtitle timing during playback of a video, the new timing will be displayed briefly as an OSD "Subtitle timing: n ms".
2. Changed: When sorting TV channels by "type", DMS/TunerStream channels will be grouped by their devices, instead of mixing all devices in one big group.  This helps with mass-editing channels associated with the same device.

1. Changed: The new ~n syntax uses square brackets instead (and optionally can take an equal) (example: ~n=[Load(var)] or ~n=[=Load(var)]).

3. Changed: The JRVR information OSD is scaled by the Media Center size setting.
4. NEW: TV view in Standard View will have the option to "Show server status" when MC is connected to a server.

1. NEW: Enabled context menu items "Go To Earliest Time" and "Go To Latest Time" in time-shifted TV playback with DMS and IPTV channels.
2. Fixed: The "Tuner Type" drop-down on Configure Device dialog window did not offer proper choices with IPTV tuner.
3. Changed: "Disabled" is removed from choices in "Tuner Type" drop-down if the TV type is "IPTV" since there is no real device to be disabled.
4. Changed: The option "Disable VideoClock when not time-shifting" is no longer shown if the devices are DMS, or IPTV since non-time-shifting mode is not offered for these types.
5. NEW: "This device uses a separate audio capture filter" option in TV tuner configuration dialog window, for analog TV tuners or video capture devices.
6. Fixed: When running an analog TV tuner or a video capture device with Closed Caption option on, and video could fail to play if Closed Caption rendering failed.  With this fix, video will play without CC when CC rendering fails.
7. Changed: When playing an ATSC TV recording, the video option "Always show subtitles" in "Subtitles & Language" section will be obeyed and Closed Captioning will be shown (if available) unless the file's PlaybackInfo tag specifically says to turn it off.  This is applicable only when playing videos in using DirectShow filters.
8. Changed: Moved the Gammut and Gamma JRVR options into an "Advanced" section, as well as re-factored the Gamma option to properly indicate the intent and suggested use.
9. Fixed: JRVR would process SDR video with a HDR brightness adaptation, resulting in boosted black levels.
10. NEW: The DLNA server defaults (when no server existed previously) to original format since many modern renderers have greater capabilities than in the past.

JRiver hangs and eventually crashes when trying to play (some?) Youtube videos.

I tried to watch this video in JRiver https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ_xWvX1n9g using File -> Open URL.

The player simply displayed a black screen with the hints bar at the bottom of the screen and a busy mouse cursor for a long time. When I pressed Ctrl+1 to switch from Display mode to Standard mode, the Windows dialog with "this program stopped responding, do you want to wait or to forcefully shut it down ?" showed up. It did the same thing no matter how many times I tried to play the video.

This happened with the previous build 103 as well. I never tried to play a Youtube video in JRiver before.

I used the "Red October JRVR" video mode in my attempts that makes use of the built-in LAV filters, as well as the Custom video mode based on JRVR and external LAV filters, with the same result.

The same video plays fine in MPC-BE with the 3DYD direct show filters version 2.2.6 beta1 (I did not try the built-in youtube playback functionality which often stops working and requires to update the player to have it working again).

I must also notice one more thing: I prefer to watch Youtube video using the 3DYD direct show filters in MPC which are very good at handling authentication and cookies issues and selecting the best video, audio and subtitle stream. But I did not see any way to configure JRiver to use these direct show filters, the JRiver Custom video mode splitter selection only has "LAV filters" and "WM ASF reader" as choices. FWIW, My previous comments regarding an objecitonable pausing/hurried video seem to be directly related to the audio method employed.  ASIO is the slowest, by a wide margin, Direct Show is the best and nearly immediate, while WASAPI is in second place and the pauses are very small. 


All with RED O HQ, and the audio pre-buffering is set to 2 secs with each.  Increasing the pre-buffering to 6 secs doesn't seem to make a difference.

Otherwise, 105 seems nice and smooth.

In .105 the previously-reported problem with right-clicks in detached display is still present.

Again, in standard view, playing an mp4 video sent to a detached display full screen, if I right-click to access any menu, the menu does not display at all unless I am right-clicking to the left of center.  As I cross center towards the right, the menu runs off the right edge until it is gone.

I have the display magnification in windows set to 175% (150% is recommended).  The problem persists in decreasing degree all the way down to 125%, while 100%,which is nearly unreadable on my screen, is unaffected.

Right-clicks anywhere on any menu are unaffected at any magnification, as are right-clicks in a PN window in the native laptop display.
