Purchase and Licensing Help

--- Quote from: tkolsto on July 11, 2022, 02:50:16 pm ---Hi I have been reinstalling so much for numerous reasons, like clean installation of Windows. I only have one restore left.
I read that one can get it reset, if one ask for it in such cases. I read this from here. (If you use all your restores, please post on the forum. We can reset the count, but this is only done if you have run out.)
Do I have to come with further information on that I have paid for it?

Hi there I purchase MC29 upgrade back on March 20th. I have not got around to installing it as I had an unstable machine and I have now refreshed it.
I tried loading the license mjr file and it says it has expired. Then I tried the link to restore the license and the system emailed me the link with the registration key. When I loaded that it appears to be for MC28 or something because it comes back with "this is not a MC license. Do you wish to purchase an upgrade" or similar.
I have the Paypal receipt for the purchase but I can't find any other mail sent back in March.
How do I fix this ?
Thanks,
JimH:
I've just re-sent your licenses, including MC29.
Please read the link about how licensing works.

Hello,
Appreciate any and all help: upgraded from MC28 to MC29 because, well, JRiver is great and CloudPlay is awesome. In fact, listening to CloudPlay Jazz while writing this but... still on MC28.
Followed (I think) all the instructions about upgrading. I have only used Windows 64-bit, so no Linux or Mac here. Installing appeared to go well. Started MediaCenter, restored my license, and entered MC with fingers crossed that settings and library would migrate over seamlessly. Instead, got a pop-up error: Window Title: "We couldn't create the data directory. Contents: "Microsoft Edge can't read and write to its data directory: C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 29\Web\EdgeUserDat\EBWeb\View." It only offered an "Okay" button. Hit 'Okay'. Got into MC29 interface... but it didn't import, update, or otherwise migrate my MC28 library or settings.
I don't use Edge, want nothing to do with it, and am not sure why this is related to JRiver. However, I also know that Microsoft shoves Edge down everyone's throat. (How often do we need to reset PDF files to NOT use Edge? Like once a month.) So I would not be surprised if this is a Microsoft thing, not a JRiver thing.
I quit JRiver and did the next most logical thing: I restarted my computer. After a restart, and a fresh glass of a great wine, I started MC29 again and received no pop-up Edge errors. However, nothing was migrated over, so I feel like a manual transition is necessary. That's cool, I can do that, I was just hoping to avoid it. (I then started MC28 to listen to music while appealing for help - still working well.) But for my general knowledge, *is* there a way to easily migrate my library and/or settings over to MC29 from MC28? Was the Edge error related? Other posts here in the Interact Forum give the impression that MC29 will find and move over libraries and settings. Did I do something wrong? Did Edge interfere in some way, because, well, Microsoft?
For the record, hats off to the JRiver team for MC28 and Cloudplay. Discovered it recently and plan to use it (and contribute) much more in the future. Frankly, it's awesome.
Thanks for any ideas.
