Can MC change sample rate of audio files?
« on: February 11, 2022, 09:49:31 am »

I've bought some hi-res albums but a couple of devices i wish to play them on cannot handle the sample rate/bit rate.

Is it possible to convert, say 96/24 flac to some kind of 16/44.1 format?

Advanced Tools/Convert Format seems capable of changing to 16bit but not modifying the sample rate. Am I missing something, or do I need a different program for this task?

TIA

DSP Studio > Output Settings.

That can convert on-the-fly when you play.

The wiki has more information.

Thanks. I saw that but I can't find a way to output the file to play on a portable device that can't handle hi-res. Perhaps i'm hoping for too much?

Use the Handheld sync tool for managing portable devices. Settings>Handheld>Conversion>Apply DSP (enable)>DSP Settings>Output Format (enable)>Sample Rate (make your changes here).

DSP settings are available in Convert Format too in almost the same manner.

I also just noticed this is in the Media Network forum so the same DSP tools are also available in the DLNA settings in Settings>Media Network>Add or configure DLNA servers if that is what you are after.
