"Album Artist" in the searchbox?
« on: February 14, 2022, 05:20:40 am »

How can I include "album artist" tag to be searchable via the search box in the MC upper right corner?

By default, only artist and file name options are available there.

mikolajek - go to Tools > Options > Manage Library Fields, scroll down to Album Artist in the list on the left and then click in the tick box at the very bottom of the form on the right of that window where it says "Default Search Field". Once you have done that to search on an Album Artist all you have to type in the Search Box is albumartist= followed by the name of the album artist.

DEFAULT search fields don't need the "albumartist=" syntax.  You just type in a string and it will find it in all of the default search fields.  So, if you make Album Artist a default search field, you can just type in "paul simon" and it will find anything where paul simon is in the Album Artist field, as well as all of the other default search fields.

Thank you both!

This works great, and indeed no need to add syntax before the keyword, the search works like a breeze!
