Media Center 20 on Ubuntu v20.04
« on: March 28, 2022, 08:50:22 am »

Hi, I have Media Center 20 working perfectly on Ubuntu 20.04. I want to purchase this version and not spend time upgrading to 28. I will be upgrading my main Win10 system soon to 28, but I just want to leave this sys alone, can I use one of my previous licenses with this install?

Unfortunately licenses for Media Center 20 are not sold anymore, and a Media Center 28 or 29 license won't work for it. So unless you already purchased a Media Center 20 license when it was being sold, there's unfortunately nothing that can be done.

Also I would not recommend running older Media Center versions like Media Center 20 on newer Linux distros like Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, things can potentially break.

If they're Windows-only licenses, then they'll only work in Windows. You cannot purchase older Media Center licenses in general for Windows, Mac or Linux nor master licenses which work for multiple OSes unfortunately. Only licenses being sold right now are for Media Center 29, which a master license for Media Center 29 will work in Windows, Mac and Linux.
