Audio CD playback too fast
« on: March 05, 2003, 12:50:55 pm »

I tried searching this problem here and on the internet but I couldn't find my answer. So here is the peculiar problem I had. I tried burning MP3's to an audio CD. I didn't get any errors when burning the CD, but when I pop it into my CD player, the playback of the CD is faster than it should. The recording sounds like it was done by Alvin and the Chipmunks. I listened to the MP3's and they were fine. I burned 2 different CD's last night and they both have this problem. Is there some setting that I missed?? BTW, I have a QPS firewire that is 24x burner and they were on plain CDr's. Thanks for you help in advance.

I have the same problem, Could it be that this is because MJ is not using MP3pro?
All my files are MP3pro 64kb

I did a convertion from a MP3 192kb without any problem

For me this is no problem because converting to wav from mp3pro can not be done with MJ without losing more qty

THe mp3 is 64kps but it's not mp3pro. I'll try converting it first and then see what happens.

I don't know if this matters but the MP3 was 22.1hz not the usual 44.1hz. I'm thinking that may be the deal. I used another program to convert it to a wav with 44.1hz and it burned correctly with Media Center.

It does, and that is why you have this problem.

Mp3Pro is not the best of the formats for sure, they cut so much out of them the quality is really poor.

Why you said is not teh best for sure?
Try it test it and give your opinion.
Mp3pro works in 64/22 with the same quality of 128/44 ... that is the idea: to reduce size with equal quality.
TRy it ... please!!

There were a couple bug fixes in this area in the past week. Your problem with fast playback should be solved with the latest version (9.0.129 or greater). If not, please let us know.

Thanks,
