Static/noise/distortion on Chord Hugo TT 2
cantara256:
Every time I power on my Chord Hugo TT 2, the first song I play through MC is distortion/static/noise; I have to quickly click Stop, but then if I Play again, it's fine.
It's reproducible every time by power cycling the TT 2 (or rebooting my Mac). Once I've done Stop/Play, and MC plays fine, I can restart MC and it continues playing fine, it's only if I power cycle the TT 2 or Mac OS.
This doesn't happen with Roon. It happened with my old Mac mini; just got a brand new one and the same thing still happens. It's not related to Roon, it was happening before I even installed Roon, and MC is the only music application on my computer. And again, Roon plays just fine.
What could be going on? I'm connecting via USB, and I have exclusive access checked off in device settings.

MC can play a few seconds of silence.

If you mean "Play silence at startup" I tried up to 5 seconds and unfortunately it makes no difference.
JimH:
Yes.
You can use MC's DSP Studio > Output Settings to convert to whatever the DAC supports. You could try the manufacturer's support.

I don't have to do anything like this in Roon. If I stop/play it works, the issue is the first time I play anything. The DAC supports up to 32 bit/768 kHz. Shouldn't MC be able to just play my files? All my files are supported by my DAC.
