Media Center 23 vs Media center 29
« on: May 09, 2022, 12:29:33 pm »

Hello
I currently have version 23 and I have been reluctant to upgrade to the latest version because I'm unable to automatically transfer my existing playlist from Version 23. Does anyone know how I can transfer my playlist to version 29 ?

You can transfer everything in your library, including all of your playlists.  This also includes views, play counts, ratings, etc.  The process goes something like this:

* In MC23 do File > Library > Backup Library
* close MC23
* open MC29
* do File > Library > Restore Library.  Use the backup file that you created in the first step above.

After it finishes (a couple of seconds), close MC29 and reopen it.  It should have everything including all of your settings.

Good luck,
Brian.

Hey Brian

I followed your instructions and the Library transferred, but they did not organize into my individual playlists.
What did I do wrong?

I suspect we have a vocabulary problem.  Meaning that you know exactly what you mean, but I'm not sure based on your words.  Can you post a screen shot or two that shows the issue and describe it a bit?

Thanks,
Brian.
