Hey! I've just installed media center 29 on my m1 max Mac and it's got me pretty excited due to it's extensive feature set and completeness that I don't see in any other music player for macos. Currently for reference, I have been running foobar2000 in a parallels vm for quite a while now. This is mainly because I hadn't been able to find a good alternative. I had a bunch of issues at first but most of them I've been able to figure out by searching through the forum.
However, I still have 4 main questions that I haven't been able to figure out.
1. While I know how to enable the volume leveling option, I am looking to see if I can add a little bit of extra gain (roughly 2db's) while it is enabled because it's a bit quiet for my tastes.
1a. Also, is there a way to get JRiver to just use the replaygain tags I already have? I know it's not as perfect as the EBU128 metering, but it'd be nice to have consistency with other players.
2. I had told media center to find lyrics for all of my tracks when I re-imported my library, and for some reason doing so screwed up a bunch of tags for some of the albums in my library not related to lyrics. For example, on my 16bit Flac's for The Low End Theory, it changed the date tag to 1991 on all the tracks with lyrics, and kept the previous tag that was there which was 1991-09-24. And it did something similar with my Bob Dylan SACD Rips, except sometimes also changing the Album Artist tag to "Bob Dylan, Bob Dylan" when it was previously just "Bob Dylan". I disabled "Update tags when file info changes" after this, but then it wouldn't write the Lyrics tag anymore, so I was wondering if it'd be possible to specifiy which tag fields that JRiver can touch and which ones it can't.
3. For some reason one of the albums in my library won't show it's cover even though it shows in all other media players I use. I have a hunch it might be the title of the album, which is ///Codename: Dustsucker as the slashes can cause issues. I tried doing Add From File, Quick Find in File, Save Cover Art To Location, and Rebuild Thumbnail all in the cover art section but to no avail.
4. Yes I know this has been asked before, but it's really the main thing that makes me still currently run Foobar2000 in a VM (and is what's stopping my other mac friends from using this software too). Is there any updates on the infamous choppy scrolling on mac's? It'd be really amazing to have this fixed because this is pretty much the only fully featured media player I've been able to find for Mac's, and this is the main thing that holds it back. (Maybe there's a skin that works better on mac's?)
Thanks for reading, hope these can get figured out!
