Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if there was any progress on supporting waves plugins?

I was checking the forum and there have been a couple of threads that are either unresolved or solved with an additional vst as a wrapper which I would really hope to avoid.

The plugins come with a vst3 shell called "WaveShell1-VST3 13.0_x64.vst3" which MC29 doesn't seem to handle right as I cannot select from all the plugins and just a rando plugin is loaded. Also, I do not get any audio.

I would really love to use Abby Road studios for headphone virtualization, but at this Moment that does not seem to be possible without a Frankenstein solution using another vst as a wrapper.

MC supports VST3 plug-ins.  Maybe the one you're using is 32 bit only.  You could try installing the 32 bit version of MC.

No that is not the problem. I am aware that JRiver by defualt works with 64bit plugins.

This shell is the connection to all wave plugin installed on the system. JRiver just picks a random one and even that doesn't work and post an error about the output channels.

I have many wave plugins it is a shame that I cannot use any of them in JRiver.

Did you try the 32 bit version of MC?

My plugins are 64bit. I am sorry but I do not have the feeling you actually read my question.

Pretty disappointing support considering that each of the links above points at the same issue and none of the have been resolved. The oldest being five years old.

I can't help you if you're not willing to try the 32 bit version.

Can you please explain to me what is supposed to be the logic behind trying the 32bit version of JRiver for 64bit plugins?
All I am asking is that you consider the actual question I asked. The problem is that the way wave plug ins work is that they have a single "WaveShell1-VST3 13.0_x64.vst3" file that links to all plug ins this however seems to cause JRiver problems. It has nothing to to with the fact that they are 64 or 32 bit as all the other threads I linked further clarify.

In the past there's been instances where the 32-bit version of a VST plugin along with the 32-bit version of Media Center works better than the 64-bit versions. There's even been instances where a 64-bit plugin straight up didn't work but the 32-bit plugin did. Most media players and apps that use VST plugins are still 32-bit only, so this actually makes sense. So even though there are 64-bit VST plugins available like Waves, there's a chance they may not work in the 64-bit Media Center. That's what Jim was talking about here.

As an experiment trying the 32-bit version might be quite telling. If it does work and the 64-bit does not, then that pretty much answers the question posted here about the 64-bit Waves plugin and 64-bit Media Center.

Waves only provides 32-bit versions of plugins released for plugins released in 2015 or earlier.  Therefore this is not an option.
