A View Scheme to catalogue Artists and Albums
« on: March 07, 2003, 07:40:14 am »

I just added this to the development forum as a suggestion for a Q of Nila's but thought it may be useful to other people.  If you want a quick way to catalogue your collection set up a view scheme showing just Artist Album and Year with the search criteria set to only show Track #1.  Sort by Artists then Year.  Highlight everything, copy into word and convert to a table.  You have your own catalogue of your complete collection.  Sorry if this seems really obvious to everybody but I thought it was kinda cool and may at least help somebody!! ;D

Thanks for the tip, this is helpful!

If you want to use it in Excel it is probably better to use the export playlist to export to delimited text and then imprt it into Excel...Glad you guys found it helprful...

Better might be to be able to read the MC library file directly with Access or something to print the list...then you wouldn't have to re-export when changes were made? Just a thought.

Is the file format documented anywhere?
