Registered Too Many Times
« on: March 12, 2003, 02:37:04 pm »

Hi,

:-[ I use Norton Ghost to restore my entire system partition on a regular basis, when I am beta testing apps/drivers etc ... I made an image file which did not have Media Center 9 registered so every time I restored the ghost image I had to re-register online. Today, after restoring the ghost image again, and re-registering MC9, I was told "Registered Too Many Times".

Can you help me rectify this? I am, of course, a 'legitimate' customer of your AWSOME product.

Thanks.

:) Great and thanks.

This time, I followed the directions and copied the .mjr file to a safe place. Is there an internal (local) counter though? If so, how many 'registers' can be had?

(I will, of course, try to avoid this, by registering the installation before making a ghost. Just wondering about the number of registers limit...)

Although it's good to have the .mjr file, it will only work for 2 weeks.  The best solution (i.e. the one I use) for me is to make an image with MC already registered, so every time I reload the ghost image I don't have to use a restore.  As for your question, according to the policy from JRiver you get 10 restores a year, but for users of MC9 JRiver will reset the counter when MC comes out of beta.  Hope this helps.
