a few small UI points re the tag pane

* is it possible to get it to remember its size instead of it constantly snapping back to the default size whenever the view changes?
* can the field name column be given a smaller proportion of the window size? currently it continues expanding well beyond the point at which it's just adding dead space (about 100 out 1600px dead space in the attached example). Alternatively can that size be made adjustable (and MC remembers this)

The issues you are describing I have never experienced.  The tag window always remembers the size that it was when I close the last time, and you can adjust the size of the label column simply by hovering your mouse over the "line" between the label in the field, and adjust its width to whatever you want… Which is also always remembered between sessions.

I wonder why this does not work for you... Weird.

It just occurred to me... You probably have the "Auto size Width" checkbox enabled in Tools/Options/Tree & View/Tree.  Un-tick that box and the issues you described will be gone!
