--- Quote from: Striker on July 01, 2022, 05:47:18 pm ---It would be great if the PixOS skin was changed to clearly show which track is playing and to be able to see the track rating when a track is selected.  The colors are just too close to be able to see the distinction and the ratings.

Good idea

Could you edit the skin and provide the updated XML?  If it looks good, we'll include it.  Thanks!

--- Quote ---A library server client appears to be able to act as a library server in it's own right. (enter it's access key)
Surely this should be disabled?

Marko remarked that he has a use-case for this, by using an authenticated client to serve an unauthenticated (hence read-only) library copy.

The user access model thus could do with a little expansion from the current single user model, hence these proposed types:
1. Authenticated (full access)
2. Authenticated (update play-counts / ratings only)
3. Authenticated (read-only)
4. Unathenticated (full-access)
5. Unauthenticated (update play-counts / ratings only)
6. Unauthenticated (read-only)

Whilst you could go somewhat more granular with permissions (ability to update each field Y/N basically) on a per-user basis, this would seem to be the simplest way to make a real improvement to the server capabilities.

When I made the feature request to put playlist links on the toolbar, I also asked for views to be available too.  Views was never implemented (perhaps there was a good reason not to), but I still have views I want to put on my toolbar, and thus it feels like 'unfinished work' to me ;)

I posted about this once though I can't find it now

one of the major things missing for me, with respect to MC as a real server app, is the complete lack of visibility on what a client is doing nor any controls to constrain that. For example, which clients (their IP minimally, some identifier preferably) are connected? what are they playing? how much load do they put on the server? It's basic info really but it's not visible.

I'll split this, but there are a couple things that might help.
