All of your media files would still be in the Library listing.
How would all files still be in the Library listing if when they are added to a playlist you don't see them in the Media Library any longer (as described in your first post)?
...you don't need the entries in the playlist also listed (redundantly) in the library listing.
In the first part of your statement you said that all files would still be in the Library listing, but here you're saying that having them listed in both the library and playlists is redundant. This seem contradictory...to me, anyway.
? I guess I don't really understand your reasoning. Why wouldn't you want to be able to click on the Media Library and see a list of
all your files, irrespective where they are located on your hardrive or what playlist(s) they belong to?
By analogy, a real world library (with books and such) doesn't list card catalog entries in the card catalog.
The Media Library is an all-encompassing card catalog. It contains a card for every file that is in your library. A playlist isn't creating a duplicate of a specific card, it is just a list of references to many cards. Adding references to the playlist doesn't remove the original cards from the all-encompassing catalog.
