setting to boost dsd volume by default
« on: August 25, 2022, 09:35:41 am »

In previous versions remember a setting to boost dsd file volume by default. Where is this setting buried in JR29?

Sorry about double post. Took long time for first post to appear, so tried again, and that's why double post.
As far as dsd volume boost via dsp, I went back to one of my old posts and found that with bitstreaming dsd, cannot do the dsd volume boost. Can not use volume leveling or other dsp settings either. I could convert my dsd files to pcm, but nope. Will manually adjust volume each and every time I play a dsd file. How convenient ;)

There is no way to adjust DSD volume in software, unless you convert to PCM. That is not just MC, but all players. DSD is just not set up for volume control.  DSD came from SACD players, which could adjust the analog volume, so there is no need to do it in software.

There is an option to boost the output by 6 dB when converting to PCM.  That might be what you are remembering.
