6-7 meter HDMI cable length active or passive?
« on: September 06, 2022, 04:53:58 am »

Connection would be Media Server in another Room to OLED TV HDMI 2.1 in Living Room.
Has anyone experience with longer HDMI cable lengths (6-7 meter, 19-22 feet)?
For (6-7 meter, 19-22 feet) would it be better to use active HDMI cable's like AQ Cherry Cola Active Optical?

I highly recommend going the active route if you're feeding HDMI 2.1 OLEDs. There's a couple deceptively cheap 'no name' 50-100ft active cables on Amazon that actually do work perfectly. I have 3 100ft 2.1 HDMIs + feeding LG C1s, 4K 120hz 4:4:4 signals, and a 100FT DP cable version for testing monitors. You *might* have to order a couple brands to see what's legit (brands I've bought disappear all the time forcing me to find new ones, despite all the ones which work being the same internally).
You can also just buy from a reputable brand but frankly, gambling on these isn't much of a burden when they're 1/3rd to half of the cost of a proper brand.
