To reproduce:
- use Windows Explorer, and make sure you don't have idx+sub files with the same filename as the video file you are about to play
- launch a video file with a double click in Windows Explorer
- right click on the video surface to display the context menu and in there pick Subtitles -> Browse. In the File Open dialog, it's not possible to select a idx+sub subtitle found at another location; you can pick the "sub" file, but it's not the same thing, I think MC believes it's a txt subtitle file format

IDX+Sub files are supported however, as if you do it this way, then they're visible:
- use Windows Explorer and place idx and sub files with the same file name as the video file name
- double-click on the video file
- you can see the subtitles are used, they show up in the Subtitles menu and are rendered on screen

Attached a idx + sub subtitle.

Like most other players (with some exceptions), MC only loads subtitles that have the same name as the main video file. That is by design, as MC allows having a folder with many video files/episodes on it, and it would be wrong to display all subtitles on all episodes.

IDX files should be selectable in the Browse dialog in MC30

zybex, you can load subtitle files with any file name while a video is playing using Subtitles -> Browse in the video player context menu.

Hendrik, thank you!

Yes, I meant auto-load.

Well, the issue I reported was with the Subtitles -> Browse feature. The auto-load works with idx/sub files, as I've mentioned in the original post.

Auto-load works only with the same filename as the video. I missed you were talking about the browse only.
