New Router and Gizmo wont connect. [Solved]

So my Asus Router failed and I have a new router but having problems with Gizmo connecting to the server on my NAS. I have MC28 running in a Linux container on my NAS and another copy of MC28 running on my laptop.

When I plug in the access key for the windows version, Gizmo connects and I can play music located on the NAS. When I plug  in the access code to ShioMax server, Gizmo tries connecting using the old routers IP address. I uninstalled Gizmo, rebooted my device and reinstalled the app, but that particular access key still uses the old routers IP. I know I am missing something but its Sunday morning on Halloween weekend so I would like some help please.  :-*

In MC options, turn media network off and back on to generate a new access key.
Also make sure that you have port forwarding setup on the router. Forward port 52199. The wiki has a topic on network access.

Ok will turn off networking to generate a new code. Though I thought port forwarding to 52199 was only necessary when outside the home network...

That's correct.

It's also possible that there is a firewall running on the router.

If firewall is running on the router, why would I be able to access MC28 on my laptop?

It could be running on a different port.

Does not appear this basic router my ISP gave me has any type of firewall.

This is a cheapo basic router given by my ISP. I do not see any firewall when I log on. In addition, when I disable and then renable the Network access in MC28 on the NAS, I get this message. So something is apparently blocking access but I am not sure where... on my Synolgy firewall perhaps?

I can't help you with networking for your NAS. 

Port 21 (shown in your port forwarding image) is normally used for FTP.

Did you try it with no forwarding?

Thanks Jim, I have eliminated the Port forwarding and still can't connect. I have some time in the next day or so & will report back when I make some progress.

Looks like your NAS can't reach the internet. Can you confirm?

Well I was able to get everything working this AM. Now able to get the access key from JRiver which allows me to use Gizmo for the NAS server.

 Someone at Synology forum suggested I remove all restrictions on NAS including firewall. Then use 8.8.8.8 for dns.

This got Gizmo working and also am now able to download missing coverart from internet.

I restored all the firewalls and all the user permission restrictions on the NAS to what they were previously one by one and made sure I was able to access the server using Gizmo.

Life is good
