30.0.35 (11/21/2022)

1. Fixed: When playing a TV channel using Transport Stream time-shifting (the new time-shifting), the OSD program info text stayed forever unless another OSD came along to replace it..
2. Changed: The position slider is smooth at the end of a track instead of jumping to a slightly different position and moving less smooth.
3. Changed: "Legacy method" (as referring to program stream time-shifting method) is renamed "original method".
4. Changed: The skin name hash is stored along with the view header images so changing skins will not require a restart for custom artwork to populate.

8. Fixed: Playing audio with more then 8 channels could result in extra channels being silenced if the output would not exactly match (now channel are copied as there is space, and then cut off).
9. Fixed: A lot of reworking of the Mac CD ripping system to make it more reliable. Needs feedback.
10. Changed: Disabled the window level changing code for now. Going to try a different approach.
11. Fixed: Put a time limit on the event wait for exiting full screen mode.
12. Fixed: Perhaps fixed an issue with the menu bar not showing after exiting full screen mode on Ventura.

30.0.32 (11/17/2022)

1. Fixed: The links toolbar could crop some buttons since the addition of Spotlight even when there was space for more.
2. Fixed: The option at the top of smartlists to expand links was not working properly.  Now it changes the visible files.
3. Changed: Links are expanded when adding files to a playlist (instead of when viewing since the view should map exactly to the actual files).
4. Fixed: Windowing issues with DSP studio and standard and display view.

2. Fixed: Thumbnails were unconditionally erased when the image filename was changed whether they should have been or not. Affected the one time library update in Mac versions >30.0.25. If you were affected by this you can restore from a backup (with thumbnails) or rebuild your thumbnails.

Don't use the database which this version updates on a previous build unless you turn off auto-import or you'll get duplicates in your database.
12. Changed: Ventura breaks the fullscreen API MC uses so MC will not go to fullscreen on Ventura and above on this build (solves white screen issues). We hope to fix this in Ventura in a future build.
13. NEW: The library tool "Clean File Properties..." adds a function to convert decomposed utf-8 in tags to precomposed utf-8. This should only need to be use to clean up NAME tags when a file was originally imported without tags (which means the original NAME tag was built from the decomposed filename).

2. Changed: When getting Theater View backdrop images (for movies and TV series) from TheMovieDB, we will attempt to use only the images that are tagged with the language code that matches the default local language.  If that fails we will fall back to any language.
3. Changed: The MCWS function Files/Search only returns a failure if no matching files are found with the "play" action, otherwise an empty list.
4. Changed: When searching for cover art, if art is found named [Filename] - [Poster] it will be used (so Titanic - Poster.jpg will work for the movie Titanic.mkv).

Problems that have been solved:-

Switching from Standard View > Cover View > Standard View
Cover View is now opening "Windowed" i.e. remains between the Apple Menu Bar and the Dock
When Returning back to Standard View - Standard View is re-opening windowed,

Switching from Display View > Standard View.
If Display View Opened Fullscreen when returning back to Standard View by every available route/method resuots in the Entire Screen going white before Standard View appears in it's Normal "Windowed Mode"
But if Dislay View is Opened "Window", Where the Player "Window" is always on display, the white screen does not appear when returning to Standard View.

Stacking of Windows is back to how it used to be i.e. DSP Studio Window above the Options Window above the Main MC Window.

Changes that are New to the Mac Version but Not the Win Version
Every Skin is using the Correct Set of ViewHeader images without having to restart MC

Changes that are New to the Mac Version but Not yet available in the Win Version.
The ProgressBar now moves at the same even pace along its full length
The Track being played highlight in the details list only advances when the New Track starts playing.
Likewise, the Tag Window only shows the tags for the New Track when it starts playing.

Unfortunately, there are still 1 or 2 problems.
If MC is told to "Stop after the current track" the Playing Now highlight advance to the Next Track as does the content of the Tag Window Prematurely.
They are happening at the Prefetch Point and not the End of Track.
The updating of the Player Bar Display Window that happens at the Prefetch Point is Very Visible and looks a bit "Silly":-
When MC is in continuous Track to Track Mode it's putting back what was already there.
But when it is told to Stop after the Current Track or comes to the End od the Playlist the lower Status line changes to displaying the word Waiting.
Since the only thing it is Waiting for is the track to finish playing and MC to update the Library and save any modifications to tags to that Tracks file on Disk is this change to the Status Line even necessary?

Other observations/problems:-
Retina's Allergy to 1 pixel images appears to be Selective - It's drawing the Vertical Gridlines for some skins but not for others.

I wish Apple would stop stop trying to re-invent the Wheel, because they appear to have ended up with a square one in Ventura.
When using my TrackInfo Plugins the crazy thing isn't changing the CoverArt when a New Track Starts Playing.
But if I make a change to any of the tags visible on the current TrackInfo Page and hit the Plugins Refresh Button the CoverArt for the Current Track does appear.
But when the next track starts the CoverArt that was showing before I changed a tag in the previous track is shown. (The CoverArt showing for Track -2)
If I simply press the TrackInfo Refresh Button it will change to Displaying the CoverArt for the Previous Track. (The Correct CoverArt for Track -1)
Now for the really cranky bit - If I once again make a change to one of the tags visible on the current TrackInfo Page and hit the Plugins Refresh Button the CoverArt for the Current Track does appear and every subsequent track also shows the Correct CoverArt.

In the attached Pix Gallery Images 1 to 6 show MC using the correct Services & Plug-ins ViewHeader Image for the 5 Skins I'm Developing, which do use Customised Images/Icons and Aruba, which only uses the Standard/Default Images/Icons
In Image 7 shows that the "Blue" Vertical Gridlines are being Drawn even though they are only 1 pixel wide.
Image 8 quite clearly shows the plugin displaying the wrong CoverArt.

Going to need a reliable way of reproducing this. I can't get it to happen on my M1 Mini's with either Monterey or Ventura.
What are you video settings (JRVR, Hardware acceleration, etc)?

I have run into a crash issue with Intel though I don't have a intel machine capable of running Monterey.

Do you have the CD & DVD drive preferences in System Preferences set to Ignore the drive upon loading of a CD?
That's how to keep the OS from interfering with the process.

Yes. I have the blank CD and DVD and the Insert music questions set to Ignore. Inserting a picture cd opens Photos and inserting a video DVD opens DVD Player.

"Application Not Responding" Installed .35 and restarted.

Deleted, reinstalled, spinning beach ball.

Restarted computer, .35 loaded, looks normal but haven't tried playing anything. Giving it a few minutes to connect with library even though there is no indication it needs/is doing that.

Running Ventura 13.0.1 on a 2.5 GHz 8-core Intel i9-11900 Hackintosh, Gigabyte Z590 Auros Extreme MB, AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT 16 GB graphics, Firecuda SSD.

Just now highlighted a song, hit play, nothing, then a spinning beach ball.

Reinstalled .25 and now I can listen to my music.

Thank you for your efforts to improve this software as it I believe it has superior sound quality to iTunes playing the same files.

One problem with .25 is that it doesn't respond to system volume controls.

I spent a few hours trying to fix the full screen display/menu bar issue that I am having. I did find a fix for it. A System Setting in the Desktop & Dock tab named "Displays have separate Spaces" must be active.

Just retested build 35 with changed System Preferences>CDs and DVDs. All options are set to "Ignore" incl. Picture and Video disks.

Thanks for the info.
It's pretty much what it's been doing with the exception of the crash.
The view info isn't always getting updated and it crashes on intel.
Will look into it more after the web issues with ventura are fixed.
