I am continuing this from this location:
https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=96962.0which I found when trying to researching this issue. It is quite old but It seems to have ended without any resolution.
My situation. I have these DSD / .DSF Vinyl Rips consisting of Cue File and then a .DSF file for each side of the vinyl.
If I import said Cue File into JRiver it plays all tracks perfectly without any pops between tracks. But I want to have the tracks as separate .dsf files. So I use JRiver to "Convert" the files into the same level of DSD which is DSD128. However the newly converted files have quite a loud Pop during track transitions.
I would love to upload some samples to someone at JRiver. However the uploads would be 4GB for the album pre-Converted and then the same for the album once converted. If someone is going to take the trouble to work on this so we can finally get it corrected then I will find a way to host the files so you can download them.
My configuration is:
DAC is my Yamaha RX-A2A Receiver via wired network port (The only way I can play native DSD files up to DSD256 (Not sure about DSD512 but they are so rare that I haven't worried about it)
Windows 10 PC with all current updates and latest version 29 of MC (Haven't upgraded to version 30 yet) Wired to the same network switch.
Music is stored on my Synology NAS DS1821+ which is also hard wired to the same network.
JRiver settings are irrelevant since the pops happen only on the converted files and also on retrieving the converted files directly from my NAS to the Yamaha RX-A2A Via built in server function, pulling the files directly from my NAS, where JRiver is no longer involved.
Something is happening during the conversion process itself that is causing these pops.
Hopefully someone is still looking at this even though you are on version 30 & the original thread seems to go back to versions 20/21. If this has been fixed in Version 30 I would consider it a valid reason to upgrade.
As was indicated by everyone in the previous thread the POP goes away when JRiver is converting to PCM.
Please let me know if you need any other details in order to troubleshoot this issue? or is someone is going to be able to download samples to test. I don't think you can truly troubleshoot this unless;
1. You download at least the whole original album image
2. You are connected to a DSD cable DAC via network / DLNA
Thank you in advance for your help.
