What field do I add to my video tags to get/see kbps?
« on: January 07, 2023, 08:18:51 am »

Hello, I want to see kbps in my tags, e.g. 384 kbps or 768 kbps, etc.
I can't find which tag I have to add to see that in my list.

Thanks for any input...

MC doesn't save any track specific bitrates for videos. To get those you'll need to use third party solutions like MCUtils or jmone's Swag of Tools

[Bitrate] seems to shows the total Video+Audio bitrate for video files (or perhaps just Filesize/runtime?), and Audio bitrate for Audio files.

To get the separate Audio bitrate of tracks in Video files you need to go with MCUtils or SoT as Lepa says. JRiver team is working on importing more info in a future version, maybe this will be part of it.

OK, thanks, that explains!

I'll consider storing this information separately for video files. Of course one concern with audio information is that its common for video files to have multiple audio tracks, so I'm still trying to figure out how to present that information in some sensible manner.

FWIW I use following template to fill mediainfo results:
I just get everything in the list from mediainfo and map/combine fields with list index or pretty format when necessary.

xyz (external) fields are manually entered when needed e.g. for external subtitles or where there is no audio/subtitles language available from mediainfo

How did you get MediaInfo into Media Center? (I have MediaInfo installed)

I'm the author of "Swag of Tools" that you can get in the 3rd party tools forum that will do this.... but I suggest it may be worth waiting a bit as Hendrik is currently working on enhancing the collection of Video Metadata as a core part of MC.

I'll see about including the bitrate of at least the primary audio track, as I'm not quite sure yet how to handle alternate tracks.
