Confusing (?) channel name conventions when "extra channels" are used

5.1 is (typically?) defined as L R C LFE SL SR

MC however appears to treat 5.1 + n extra channels as L R C LFE RL RR which is, I think, inconsistent with the 5.1 + 0 extra channels layout

to my mind, this inconsistency is rather confusing/surprising
