Some Hairstyle Questions
« on: March 02, 2003, 07:44:07 am »

I'm just getting around to trying to set my remote up for use with Hairstyle and I have a couple of questions.

1. Is there some command to go direct to Hairstyle without toggling throught the other modes?

2. Is there some command that ONLY toggles between fullscreen and Hairstyle? I don't want the normal mode showing up at all when I'm running MC this way.

3. I have an image view scheme that uses Genre\Album. The Album level seems to be locked in the Thumbnails (album group), even though I'm not using that in the view scheme. In MC's normal mode, that same view scheme just shows thumbnails. Is this a bug? Or a design choice? Anyway of changing it?

Got that one figured out. But the other two questions remain.

Hi Doof,
Startup options include startup in Hairstyle.

Other than that, it's ctrl-w, F11, and escape.

We're still working on this, so let us know what you need.

Well, there doesn't appear to be anyway of going direct from Hairstyle to Full Screen, without going through MEGA-ME.

Both Ctrl-W and F11 goes : MEGA-ME -> Full Screen -> Hairstyle -> MEGA-ME.

And Escape goes from either Full Screen or Hairstyle direct to MEGA-ME.

How about a key combination (or MJEXTMAN command) that takes you to Hairstyle no matter what mode you're in currently? And one that toggles between Full Screen and Hairstyle without going through MEGA-ME at all?

The way I picture this working is that MC would start up in Full Screen, and at the touch of a button on the remote, jumps to Hairstyle. Then when you hit that same button on the remote, it goes back to Full Screen.

Correction. Apparently Ctrl-W and F11 act differently depending on whether or not MC is currently playing anything.

If it is, it cycles through the three modes.
If it's not, then it just toggles between MEGA-ME and Hairstyle.

Is it supposed to be like that?

We're still thinking about what it's supposed to be.

If you have playback set to "jump to full screen..." then you can get to Hairstyle with F11 or CTRL-W, and then back to full screen with escape.

(I think.)

Hmm... Just tried that. I have it set to Jump to Playing Now (always), and it still acts the way I described above.

Additionally, it's not jumping to Playing Now when I hit the Play button. Only if I select a song or playlist and then right click and choose play.

Bug?

Try "Full screen (if has display)".
