Editing MP3 Files
« on: February 17, 2023, 10:19:01 am »

I recently switched to JRiver Media Server. A lot of my media is LP's that were digitized **years** ago to MP3 files. One issue I have with many of these is that there is a low-frequency rumble. I found I can acceptably remove this using the equalizer build into the editor. Which is nice; but I am left with a file that has the tags removed. Which makes it quite a hassle. But doing this file by file was going to be a bit of a hassle at any rate. Not sure that I have energy to reinvigorate my programming chops and dig into the code...

Guess the alternative is to re-digitize the LP's using something like Audacity (doesn't seem that JRiver has the functionality to automatically identify track boundaries...). Of course that moves me to a more modern set of encoding choices and better low frequency sound, so maybe it is time...

Edit the file with your editor and save it back to it's original location, then choose LibraryTools->UpdateTagsFromLibrary.
