Feature request (?)
« on: March 11, 2023, 08:45:48 am »

It may be in MC but I don't know:

Could we have a feature that would show all connected clients via JRemote (or over the "media network" accessing via accesskey)?  Would be good to know what type of client as well.

It would also be interesting to know resources consumed by transcoding/streaming to those clients as well as if transcoding, what is it transcoding to (audio, video, bitrate for each).

In Services and Plug-ins you can see Media Network activity.

Windows Task Manager shows activity like CPU, Disk, etc.

Thanks Jim.  I'll look at it - did not notice this before.

---

Taking a quick look - not quite what I am looking for - was thinking something much simpler ala Plex and how I can see who all my clients are and stats about each (back to my first post - what is being served, how is it being served, e.g. transcoded, direct, cpu/mem/network consumption for *that* client).

Also - clicked on the "Reporter" menu item and MC just locked up - continued to play my music but it never came back, just spinning circle in Windows.  Was curious what "Reporter" is.

Reporter is working for me.  Are you using it on a client?

https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Reporter

You can filter what you're interested in seeing in the Media Network page.  Look for "All Servers".

No - trying it on my server. Just tried again and it hangs.  Have to force kill the application.

I tried the other options, Scheduler, Downloads, Media Network, etc.  and they all work.

What does "Reporter" do?

The wiki should answer that.

Antivirus?

You could look at the Previous Log after a crash.  Start at the bottom.  Wiki has a logging topic.
