Two DLNA Server feature requests
« on: March 16, 2023, 08:17:54 am »

Hi,

I've noticed when using DLNA to an external Media Renderer, the Renderer can take some seconds before it begins playing the media; but MC's own playback continues progressing from the time the user hit the play key. So MC and the renderer are out of sync.

Would it be possible for MC to restart from the beginning of the first track in a playlist, when it gets the indication from the renderer that the renderer has commenced playback? I've noticed this behaviour with some other UPnP Servers/Control points to keep the server and renderers in sync. Alternatively, perhaps an option could be added for MC to simply wait for the renderer?

Secondly, related to this, I find MC doesn't set the URI for the next track until almost the end of the current track has been reached. Would it be possible for MC to set the URI for the next track as soon as it receives indication from the renderer, that playback for the current track has started?

Thanks in advance for considering these requests.
