Do you mean changing zoom throughout the film?

I'm not trying to zoom the image, I don't want anything cut off.

What I use the black bar detection to do is to move the 2.35:1 image to the bottom of the 16:9 screen. So I have one large bar at the top of the screen and the image is flush to the bottom of the screen. This is much, much less distracting than having black bars top and bottom, and still works really well with the change of aspect ratio in Nolan movies (and others

It's also easier to mask with a single masking panel at the top rather than having to have masking panels top and bottom.

This is exactly what I'm doing except I have a single masking panel for the bottom. It works better for my room to move the image up. JRVR is probably a no go for me until there is a way to handle this easily.

I have madvr set to black bar detection. When a 2.35:1 film suddenly changes aspect ratio, instead of the image overhanging my 2.35:1 scope screen, it's shrunk to fit. Not sure how it works but it works  :).

I am referring to variable aspect ratio films, you want it to change or pick one?

Either, not bothered. 'Pick one' would be cool. As long as it fits the screen with no drama.  :)

Been playing with JRVR on my TV tonight. Really happy with the simplicity. It didn't like the NVIDIA driver (385.28) I was using at first when playing HDR material, kept crashing my GPU.
