Shovelling gravel and laying railroad ties in 105 degrees.

I'm sorry to say, I didn't last more than a  day.

Second worst:
Delivering newspapers that had to be at the door by 6:30 AM in Nebraska in December.  10 belowF.  That lasted three years.  Summers were nice.

Not quite worst job but how's this for bad.

I've been trying without much luck to find a job since I graduated, I went for an interview on wednesday and thought it went well, for once they didn't seem to think I had too little experience. I got on ok with them and I was pretty sure I had it.

Phoned up the recruitment agency today that had lined me up for the position and was told I hadn't.
Supposedly they thought I was 'Too Clever' for the job and that I'd be able to learn it really fast and then just get bored of it.
It was providing 1st/2nd line tech support for a company that was meant to be an extremely fast growing IT ASP company that wanted someone for the job who could think and show initiative and learn fast.

I didn't get it for being too smart!!!
That was ANNOYING to hear, VERY frustrating!

:o
The worst job I had was to work with someone that had an attitude and took it out on me for no reason.

before, I was a loner and didnt like to be in groups and that has changed.

One of my freinds gave me a new nick name, just call me Zipper Head...    LOL

My first job, summer of '81, sold thermal windows door to door...later that year worked one week at McDonalds, one week at Farrells (for those that don't know, it's an obnoxious ice cream parlor, drums beating sirens wailing birthday party kinda place).
Ah the early eighties, good times, good times.

Beta tester for J River. And here's why:

Hours are long.

Pay stinks.

Forgot what family looks like.

Family forgot what I look like.

Dog forgot what I look like.

I forgot we had a dog.

Mentally taxing. (See above and below)

Physically challenging at times - depends on how many times I beat my head against the desk.

Hard on furniture. (See above)

And the list could go on and on and on....

Many years ago when I was at college, I went home (Nottingham, England) for the Christmas hols and thought it would be a good idea to get a job for a couple of weeks for some extra cash. It was difficult to find jobs in the early 80s, but I got one immediately at the local pork pie factory (they shall remain nameless in case they decide to sue).

It was the hardest I have EVER worked and thinking back on it now it was uncomfortably close to slave labour. I was on the 8am to 8pm shift--yes 12 hours! with only 40 minutes for lunch and two 15 minute breaks during which everyone on the shift found the nearest bench for a much needed lie down. I would ride the bus home every evening, and I remember thinking that everyone must know where I worked cos I smelled exactly like a pork pie.

I don't know how I made it through the two weeks, and when I left they nonchalantly handed me a monster-sized pie as a gift -- somehow it found its way into the nearest trash bin. It took me many years before I was able to face a pork pie again.
